Housing Options operates two warm lines which are both connected to our respites. One is in the Southern Tier, which serves Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua Counties. The other serves Erie County. Both warm lines provide support to callers who may just need someone to listen and the staff can also provide information about resources available within the community that can help them with their issue. Some callers just need someone to talk to and we are there for them. Individuals can access the warm lines by phone, texting, and if needed face to face visits, 365 days a year.
When you call the warm line you will be connected with one of our trained peer companions. All peer companions are certified through the New York State Academy of Peer Services as Peer Support Specialists. We use our lived experience as a basis for connection, mutual understanding and empathic support.
