Recovery Youth Work Program

Recovery Center Youth Work Program (RCYWP)

The Recovery Center Youth Work Program
The Recovery Center Youth Work Program is an expansion of Housing Options Made Easy, Inc.’s Recovery Center program in Cattaraugus County. We are funded by Cattaraugus County Community Services. The Youth Work Program helps transitional youth ages 16 to 24. We focus on youth with mental illnesses and/or disabilities and assist them in obtaining a job or furthering their education.  We strive to help them find their spark of life.
The foundation of the Housing Options Recovery Center Model is person centeredness. The peer-run Recovery Center Youth Work Program works with youth with a mental health diagnosis to improve work skills. The focus is on individual strengths and interests regarding employment rather than labels and diagnoses. Recovery Guides (ages 16 to 24) act as youth mentors. The program serves individuals from age 16 to 24 years old.
The Recovery Center Youth Work Program:
  • Assists youth in finding employment
  • Assists youth in identifying, remembering or discovering their own passions in life as it relates to  employment and serves as a clearinghouse of employment opportunities
  • Supports youth engaging in community activities
  • Provides peer staff and mentors who are within the age group being served
  • Links individuals with educational opportunities.
  • Provides a six-month, paid on-the-job training program for a clerical staff position
